Traffic changes implemented as paving begins for section of Valleyview Drive

KAMLOOPS — Drivers in the Valleyview, Rose Hill, and Juniper Ridge areas will want to take note of new construction starting along Valleyview Drive tomorrow (Aug. 6)

Paving and curbing will take place from the Trans Canada Highway Overpass along Valleyview Drive to Russet Wynd, as part of the Valleyview Drive Road Improvements Project.

The City of Kamloops contract BA Dawson Blacktop to carry out the project, with construction scheduled Monday – Saturday from 7 a.m to 5 p.m until fall of 2019.

Traffic will be reduced to single-lane alternating, and traffic control personnel will be on hand for direction.

Additionally, the bus stops along Valleyview Drive in the section between the Trans Canada Highway overpass and Russet Wynd will be closed during the project, with temporary bus stop detours placed elsewhere.

Routes impacted include 16 Juniper, and 17 Dallas.

The following bus stops will be closed for the duration of the project:

  • 104660 Valleyview Drive at Rose Hill
  • • 104661 Valleyview Drive at Comazzetto
  • • 104700 Valleyview at Strom Road
  • • 104699 Valleyview at Knollwood Crescent westbound
  • • 104662 Valleyview at Knollwood Crescent eastbound
  • • 104698 Valleyview at Knollwood Crescent
  • • 104663 Valleyview at Orchard Drive
  • • 104664 Valleyview at Cardinal Drive

Temporary bus stops will be placed on the north and south sides of the Trans Canada Highway Frontage Road in front of Burger King as well as on on the north and south sides of Glenwood Drive, and the west side of Cardinal Drive.
