ROAD CLOSURE

Section of Mabel Lake Forest Service Road to be closed temporarily

VERNON — Due to some safety improvement work, the Mabel Lake Forest Service Road (FSR) will be temporarily closed starting tomorrow (Aug.6 ) until August 20th.

The closure will be between the 14-kilometre and 16-kilometre marks, with forests ministry staff focusing on subsurface drainage and road realignment to improve public safety.

The road is part of the 55,000 km forest service road network that gives access to much of BC’s backcountry. It’s located on the east side of Mabel lake outside of Lumby.

Alternative routes include:

• From Enderby/Ashton Creek, take Enderby Mabel Lake Road to Three Valley-Mabel FSR, to Mabel Lake FSR
• From Highway 1, take Three Valley Mabel-Wap FSR to Mabel Lake FSR
