Fatal crash closes Trans-Canada west of Savona

KAMLOOPS – The BC Day long weekend began with a tragic highway crash west of Kamloops Friday afternoon.

RCMP Cpl. Chris Manseau says police are investigating a fatal crash along the Trans-Canada highway east of Cache Creek.

“It was a single vehicle, and it was a collision involving that vehicle that just went off the road to the left.” He says, “There was a single occupant in it, and traffic services attended, and are still investigating the cause.”

BC Coroners Service also attended the scene near Juniper Beach Provincial Park.

BC Emergency Health Services says an air ambulance was called to the scene around 4:30 pm, but it was cancelled before arriving.
