Wiliams Lake food drive planned

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — It’s Christmas in July in Williams Lake. That’s how the city’s fire department is describing its July 30 Food Bank drive.

Fire department personnel will go door to door from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., to collect non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army.

The summer can be a difficult time for food banks.

“The Salvation Army Food Bank shelves are generally running low this time of year,” says Fire Chief Erick Peterson.

Fire crews will be knocking on doors in Westridge, Country Club Boulevard, Terra Ridge, Western Avenue, Midnight Drive, and sections of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Avenues.
