Storm name Steve Gainey new head coach

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Storm Hockey Club will have a new head coach for the 2019/2020 season. Matt Kolle, GM of the Storm is pleased to announce Steve Gainey as the head coach for the 2019/2020 season.

“Gainey has been an active member of our recruitment and coaching staff for quite sometime and we are thrilled to have him lead our team to what is shaping up to be an incredible group of young men for the 2019/2020 season” says Kolle. “Gainey has been an integral part of our organization. He’s been watching players and analyzing them and we have always admired how he interacts, coaches and molds young players”.

Jassi Sangha will remain with the club in an assistant capacity along with Andrew Fisher and Cody Lockwood. Peter Friedel will return to be the team trainer.

Play begins with the first exhibition game on August 29th at the MacArthur Island Sports Centre against the Sicamous Eagles. Home ice will remain at Memorial Arena. A full game schedule (regular and exhibition schedules) will be released shortly along with information on season ticket sales.
