KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Wildfire Service has sprung into action after a wildfire report west of Savona.
According to a social media post by the service, the fire measures about one hectare, and is burning in steep terrain south of Deadman Creek, and is adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway.
There is no word what caused the blaze.
This is the first wildfire of note in the Kamloops vicinity as more seasonal hot and sunny conditions set in after a rainy stretch earlier in July.
