Charles Hudon signs one-year deal with Montreal Canadiens

MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Charles Hudon to a one-year, US$800,000 contract.

Hudon, 25, had three goals and two assists in 32 games with the Canadiens last season.

The signing prevents Hudon, who was a restricted free agent, from going to arbitration next month.

“Right now, I’m just focusing on the future and what’s going on with me,” Hudon said. “I’m a hockey player, I want to play hockey. I (didn’t) want to go to arbitration.”

The native of Alma, Que., has 13 goals and 26 assists in 110 career NHL games with Montreal
