Canada Parks Day marked by visitor improvements at two BC Parks
CULTUS LAKE, B.C — Alongside Canada Parks Day, a number of visitor improvements have come to two of BC’s Provincial Parks.
In a release, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy says 25 new cabins have been added to Cultus Lake Provincial Park, with 22 electric sites and electric vehicle charging stations added to Mount Robson Provincial Park.
“Our parks are important for bringing families and communities together, improving our health and well-being, and protecting critical habitat for various species,” said George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. “The new cabins provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a night at Cultus Lake, and the EV charging stations at Mount Robson make clean transportation more accessible for the growing number of British Columbians taking advantage of CleanBC initiatives.”
Volunteers from GW Graham Middle school and the Canadian Armed Forces constructed the 200 square-foot cabins, which can host up to five people for $90 per night.
