Cariboo Regional District says 47 properties impacted by flooding
BIG CREEK, B.C. — The Cariboo Regional District says 47 properties have been impacted by flooding.
The district says in a news release that the affected properties are in the Big Creek area. Among those properties, the majority of the impacts are to hayfields, irrigation channels, land, driveways. Fencing and damage to residential homes is minimal.
A public meeting will be held at the Big Creek Community Hall this Saturday. It will provide residents with an opportunity to gather information and ask questions of officials.
The 1-in-200 year flood sent a torrent down the Chilcotin River that swamped more than 100 properties.
