Slide blocks Highway 97 south of Clinton

CLINTON, B.C. — A mudslide has closed Highway 97 south of Clinton.
According to Drive BC, the mudslide came down 17 kilometres south of Clinton, about halfway between the community and the Hat Creek junction with Highway 99.
The highway is closed between Loon Lake Road and the Pavilion Forest Service Road.
Assessment by Ministry of Transportation engineers is in progress. There’s no word when the highway will re-open.
