Cariboo Regional District plans flood recovery meeting
WILLIAMS LAKE— The Cariboo Regional District has planned a public meeting as it begins the recovery process from last week’s huge flood along the Chilcotin River.
The 1-in-200 year flood sent a torrent down the channel that swamped more than 100 properties.
In a news release, the CRD says road repairs are going well and everyone has access to their properties once again. Officials have been flying through the hardest hit areas over the past several days, assessing the damage to homes and buildings.
While the CRD says damage to homes appears to be minimal, there is extensive damage to outbuildings.
