Several reports of travel trailer batteries being stolen in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — RCMP in the city are reminding those with travel trailers to secure their batteries after numerous reports of batteries being stolen.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says Thursday alone, there were five reports of travel trailer batteries being stolen in Kamloops.
“In most of the cases, the strap holding the battery on the trailer was cut,” Shelkie says. “It is believed that the thieves take the batteries to recycling centers for recycling fees.”
Police recommend owners mark their batteries with some form of identification, like a drivers licence number, and attach them securely to the trailer.
