SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH

Kamloops among several B.C. regions under severe thunderstorm watch

KAMLOOPS — Heavy rain and hail is possible for several areas in B.C. today, with Environment Canada issuing a severe thunderstorm watch.

With the current weather system, conditions are ripe for severe thunderstorms to form — producing heavy rain, large hail, and strong winds.

Areas under the watch include:

• Fraser Canyon north including Lillooet.
• South Thompson.
• North Thompson.
• Cariboo — south including Williams Lake, B.C.
• 100 Mile, B.C.

Environment Canada warns that large hail can cause damage to property and injure people, while strong winds can damage buildings and loose objects.
