Friday Coquihalla crash near Kamloops claimed life of Washington teen

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say they have not determined what led to a collision that killed a young woman near Kamloops on Friday.

The head-on collision between a Toyota Sienna minivan and a Toyota Prius took place Friday afternoon on the Coquihalla Highway, just southwest of Kamloops.

The BC Coroners Service confirms the person who lost her life was a female in her teens from Washington state.

According to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, the vehicles involved have been sent away for mechanical inspections.
