KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada is kicking off the long weekend with a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of the province.
The watch, put in place at about 11:00 a.m. Friday, includes the South Thompson, Nicola and Shuswap regions, as well as the Coquihalla Highway. Another watch is in effect for a good portion of northern B.C.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of strong winds, large hail and heavy rain.
