Blazers add Swiss blueliner in CHL Import Draft
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have drafted a Swiss defenceman in the CHL Import Draft.
Kamloops selected 2001-born Inaki Baragano with the 16th selection in the draft.
Baragano was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and played the 2018-19 season with the Lausanne Under-20 team. He registered six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 39 games. He also played for Switzerland in the Under-18 World Hockey Championships, getting one assist in seven games at the tournament.
Baragano is expected to be in Kamloops for the Blazers’ mid-August training camp.
