WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is opening up burning restrictions within the Cariboo Fire Centre.
According to a release, lower fire danger ratings combined with expected rainfall and cooler temperatures have led BCWS to allow Category 2 burning once again, starting Wednesday, June 26.
Category 2 fires refer to fires up to two metres high and three metres wide.
In addition to Category 2 fires, stubble burning, sky lanterns, fireworks, tiki torches and binary exploding targets will also be allowed, subject to local government bylaws.
