KAMLOOPS — Some Juniper Ridge residents are getting back into their homes after a brief evacuation this morning.

According to Kamloops Fire Rescue, a landscaping company hit a natural gas line while working at a residential complex near Qu’appelle Boulevard and Emerald Drive.

KFR says the complex was evacuated, along with about 12 residences on Emerald.

Fortis BC stopped the flow of gas, and KFR says residents are returning home.

In a tweet, Fortis called the incident preventable, and reminded BC residents to call before digging.
