KAMLOOPS —- Massimo Rizzo, a former Kamloops Blazers first round bantam draft pick, was taken second to last in the NHL draft this weekend — and then had his B.C. Hockey League rights traded.

Rizzo went to the Carolina Hurricanes, the 216th out of 217 players taken in the NHL draft.

Rizzo, who opted for the NCAA over the WHL, played the last two seasons with the Penticton Vees.

Today the Vees captain last season was traded to the Coquitlam Express to complete an earlier trade.
