CHASE, B.C. — RCMP say some early morning operations in the Chase area resulted in tracking down a bunch of impaired drivers.

According to a release, members of the RCMP’s Central Interior Traffic Services (CITS) unit changed tactics over the past month, moving to early morning traffic enforcement shifts and “covert call operations”.

During two early morning shifts and two call operations, CITS issued three 24-hour suspensions, four three-day immediate roadside prohibitions (IRPs), and three 90-day IRPs.

The shifts also resulted in 76 tickets being issued for seatbelt violations and distracted driving, combined.
