KAMLOOPS — Lightning cells moving across the region are causing small fire starts in the Kamloops Fire Centre, but so far none of those starts is of particular significance.

Fire Information Officer Nicole Bonnett says there have been three starts reported in the Clearwater area Thursday afternoon, though one could not be verified by a bird dog aircraft crew.

Another fire was the result of a single-tree lightning strike in the area of Pritchard Lake, east of Kamloops. Bonnett says four BC Wildfire Service personnel are en route to that call.

In the Cariboo Fire Centre, a cluster of fires has been reported south of Williams Lake in the Chimney Lake area. All of them are very small.
