List of candidates vying to represent Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo up to six
KAMLOOPS — Six political parties already have their candidates in place for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo in the upcoming federal election.
This after the Green Party confirmed no one will challenge Iain Currie at the party’s upcoming nomination meeting. According to a news release, Currie was the only nominee to file his candidacy papers before the Wednesday deadline.
Incumbent Conservative Party of Canada MP Cathy McLeod will run again, with a challenge from former Kamloops mayor and B.C. cabinet minister Terry Lake running under the Liberal Party banner.
Fledgling politicians Gina Myhill-Jones and Ken Finlayson will run as well, for the NDP and People’s Party of Canada respectively.
