Shortage of nurse practitioners in Kamloops temporary: Interior Health
KAMLOOPS — A shortage of nurse practitioners in the area is leaving some Kamloops patients without a primary care provider.
One nurse practitioner at the North Shore Primary Care Centre recently left the facility, and there are a few more vacant spots in the region according to Cathy Thibault, Interior Health’s health service administrator for Kamloops.
Thibault says the shortage means patients could be waiting one to five-and-a-half weeks for an appointment, depending on their provider.
