KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: According to posts on social media, the truck has been recovered.

EARLIER: A Kamloops man is reaching out to the public for help after a distinctive truck was stolen.

In a social media post, Dustin Thomas says the orange 1983 GMC pickup truck belonged to his father, who passed away due to lung cancer a few years ago.

In addition to its monitary value, Thomas says the truck is of significant sentimental value. He says he had it 85 per cent restored before it was stolen overnight Sunday to Monday from a shop in Valleyview.

Thomas is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that helps to find the truck.

He notes the truck is “impossible to miss” and has a blue driver’s side door.

If you see it, contact Kamloops Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
