Norbord to shutter 100 Mile OSB plant, putting 160 out of work

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — Canfor isn’t the only company feeling the pinch, as Norbord has announced it will shut down it’s oriented strand board (OSB) mill in 100 Mile House this August.
About 160 employees will be affected by what the company is calling an “indefinite curtailment”.
Norbord cites high costs and low wood supply due to the pine beetle epidemic and back to back wildfire seasons in 2017 and 2018.
