VANCOUVER — On the heels of a decision to shutter its Vavenby sawmill, Canfor says it is curtailing production at the rest of its mills in B.C, save for one.
The company says the majority of its mills will be down for two weeks or the equivalent, with four-week curtailments at Houston and Plateau, and six weeks at Mackenzie. Canfor has 11 operations in BC, not including Vavenby. The only mill to avoid a curtailment is WynnWood.
According to a Canfor news release, the curtailments will run from June 17 through July 26.
