VERNON, B.C. — Police say a break and enter in Vernon turned violent overnight.

Officers responded to an alleged assault at a residence on Cenntennial Drive around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

“Upon arrival, front line officers learned that a male had broken into the home and allegedly attacked and stabbed another male occupant in the arm,” said Const.Kelly Brett.

“A 24 year old male, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was transported to the nearest medical facility for treatment.”

Brett says officers quickly converged on another residence a few blocks away, where the suspect was known to live.

“The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. This was a very targeted attacked involving all parties that are known to one another,” added Brett.

A 27 year old man from Vernon is in custody and is facing possible charges of break and enter with intent and assault causing bodily harm.
