84-year-old suspect arrested in 100 Mile armed robbery

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. – Police in the Cariboo say a man in his golden years was looking for his gold.

RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at a financial institution in 100 Mile House on Monday (June 3).

An 84-year-old man was reported to have entered the business with a loaded rifle and demanded money. The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash only to be arrested a short time later without incident.

The man is currently being held in custody as the investigation continues. No one was injured.
