New wildfire ignites near Stump Lake

KAMLOOPS — A new wildfire has popped up south of Kamloops.
According to social media posts from the BC Wildfire Service, the fire is burning near Stump Lake, and can be seen from Highway 5A.
Fire Information Officer Taylor MacDonald says as of Monday afternoon, the fire was estimated at between one-and-a-half and two hectares.
The wildfire service says nine personnel are attacking the fire, along with air tanker support.
MacDonald says no buildings are threatened as of Monday.
