KAMLOOPS — A Chilliwack-based firm will design Valleyview Secondary’s $34.5 million expansion project.

In a news release, the school district says CHP Architects was one of seven firms who sent in proposals for the expansion.

Based in Chilliwack, the firm’s projects have included the designs for Canyon Falls Middle School in Kelowna and the H.S. Grenda Middle School in Lake Country, along with an upgrade and addition at Langley Secondary.

The Valleyview expansion was announced on April 12 of this year, and it’s expected to bring the school’s capacity from 675 to 1,200 students.

There are 940 students enrolled at the school now, and the expansion will lead to the removal of the nine portables on site.
