Trudeau expected back in Kamloops for Liberal nomination event

KAMLOOPS — The Prime Minister will be returning to Kamloops Tuesday (May 21) to show his support for federal Liberal nominee, Terry Lake.

Lake, a former Mayor of Kamloops, MLA, and BC Health Minister, declared his nomination to run for the federal Liberals in the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding back in April.

According to the Liberal Party of Canada event page, Justin Trudeau will be a guest at the association’s nomination meeting, to be held at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Lake will be running against incumbent Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP, Cathy McLeod, along with 100 Mile House resident- Gina Myhill-Jones, who declared her nomination plans for the federal NDP.

Canadian voters will head to the polls for the 2019 federal election October 21.
