KAMLOOPS — Emergency crews had the Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview closed for several hours last night after a motorcycle-involved incident.

Kamloops Fire Rescue Acting Platoon Captain Dale Greffard says the call for the incident came in at about 8:45 p.m from RCMP, who were first on scene.

“Our first unit was our engine from Valleyview,” He explains, “Motorcycle operator had hit a curb at Comazzetto Road and laid his bike down, so a single vehicle incident.”

Greffard says while waiting for paramedics to arrive, they attended to the medical needs of the patient.

“Care was transferred to BCEHS and the patient was transported (to a medical facility).”

While on scene, RCMP and KFR conducted traffic control, and the highway was shut down for some time.
