KYSA Slurpee Cup longest running youth soccer tournament in B.C. interior

Matches begin on Saturday, May 18^th at 9:00am and continue through the day with the last game kicking off at 6:00pm. On Sunday, May 19^thgames kick off at 9:00am and continue until 7:00pm. Games on Victoria Day Monday start at 8:30am and run through to approximately 4:00pm. Matches will be played on fields throughout the city, with the majority of games scheduled at McArthur Island.

Teams from throughout British Columbia have entered this year’s tournament, as well as teams from Alberta. The tournament sees many teams return every year to compete.

The KYSA has 23 teams competing in the Slurpee Cup this year.

Each team will play four, 60-minute games during the 3-day event.

“We have many teams return to play in the Slurpee Cup year after year because it’s a well run tournament and the quality of the facilities in Kamloops are second to none,” says KYSA President, Candace Dodson-Willis. “We cannot thank the City staff in the Parks, Recreation and Culture department enough for the tremendous amount of work they put in to prepare the fields for our event, ensuring that our visitors and our own teams get to play on top quality fields.”

The Slurpee Cup is expected to bring over to 3,000 participants to Kamloops, including hundreds of parents, grandparents and siblings.
