KAMLOOPS — A major police presence at a Sahali gas station Thursday morning has been resolved.

This morning (May 16) at 8:30 a.m., employees from the Esso gas station on Columbia Street West reported a suspicious vehicle parked behind the building, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release.

Officers arrived and found two men sitting inside of the pick-up truck. After checking the licence plate it was found to have been stolen out of Saskatchewan, Shelkie says.

The 26-year-old man in the driver’s seat was arrested without incident, but the 24-year-old man in the passenger’s seat resisted arrest. He was ultimately taken into custody.

Shelkie says it was found both men were breaching conditions from Saskatchewan, and the passenger had a warrant for his arrest from Saskatchewan.

All investigational information will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service who will determine charges.
