Spring showers expected for Kamloops after sunny weekend weather

KAMLOOPS — While this weekend has seen mostly sunshine, according to Environment Canada, Kamloops might be in for a few showers in the coming days.

Meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says the rest of this week will see the slight spike in heat settle down.

“So you could get some showers early in the week. Monday for example, has a slight chance of showers. However it’ll be later in the week when we really get into a likelihood of widespread showers- Thursday, Friday, and into the weekend.”

Sekhon reminds people headed outside to keep sunscreen on as the UV rays are high at this time of year, and to be mindful that hot spring weather doesn’t mean it’s swim season.

“Also keep in mind that lakes and rivers are still fairly cold at this time of year,” He says, “So if you’re going in, just make sure that you don’t go in for too long, to avoid hypothermia.”
