KFR takes down mobile home park blaze

May 11, 2019 | 7:24 AM

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were able to extinguish a small fire in a mobile home park along Ord Road last night.

Platoon Captain Jim Gorman says the blaze started around 8:15 p.m, and KFR was on scene for a couple of hours afterwards.

“The fire in the mobile home park severely damaged one trailer, and partially melted the siding on another trailer nearby,” He explains, “The resident in that one was safe, but the neighbour that tried to extinguish the outside blaze with a garden hose did suffer some burns.”

Unless someone can safely take down a blaze, Gorman recommends waiting until Kamloops Fire Rescue arrives on scene to prevent injuries.

Gorman says there is no word yet on a cause, but they are looking into it. “Our fire investigators were still on scene when we left.”
