Surrey woman dead after crash near Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP are investigating after a woman died on the Okanagan Connector east of Merritt.
According to an email from RCMP E-Division spokesperson Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, the crash happened yesterday afternoon.
Shoihet says a 62-year-old Surrey woman was travelling eastbound on Highway 97C in a black sedan when she lost control. The car hit the centre median and rolled. The woman, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
