KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops have recovered a large amount of stolen property.

Investigators searched a home in the 2000-block of Parkcrest Avenue this morning. Builders tools, survey equipment and stolen mail was found inside, as well as counterfeit American currency.

Two men were inside at the time. A 36-year-old Kamloops man was arrested. He was previously known to police. The second man was released without charge.

“It is difficult to put a monetary value on the amount of stolen items recovered today,” stated Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “We will now begin the process of matching serial numbers to items that have previously been reported stolen.”

Shelkie says the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service who will determine whether charges are appropriate.
