KAMLOOPS — The interim executive director of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce has officially been hired into the position.

Acacia Pangilinan started her new position today (May 6). She was previously the programs and events manager and has worked with the chamber since 2015, according to a news release from the Kamloops Chamber.

“Our community is incredible, and I am energized by the great work being done by so many hardworking people,” she says in the release. “Our Chamber is a champion of our community, and my goal is to support and celebrate that in any way I can. I am looking forward to building relationships and cultivating our community’s success.”

Before joining the chamber, Pangilinan worked at MP Cathy McLeod’s office, and during her time at TRU was student president for Enactus Thompson Rivers — a student volunteer organization that uses the power of business to tackle issues in the community. In 2015 she was recognized as Enactus Canada’s HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow.
