KAMLOOPS — Water restrictions kick in tomorrow within the City of Kamloops. If you plan on watering your grass be sure that you’re doing it on the correct day.

From May 1 through August 31, homeowners with even numbered addresses are only allowed to sprinkle their lawns on even numbered days. Property owners with odd numbered addresses are allowed to water on odd numbered days.

Sprinkling and watering aren’t allowed between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Overnight sprinkling must be done through either automatic irrigation systems or sprinklers controlled by a timer.

Failure to comply could cost you $100 for the first offense. Each subsequent offense could run you at least $200.

You can still use your hoses for other activities such as car washing as long as the hose is equipped with a spring-loaded shut-off nozzle.

You are also allowed to water your decorative plants using any device at any time.
