KAMLOOPS — Four-year-old Reid Lukinchuk idolizes the RCMP. His mother Bryanna Lukinchuck said every time he sees a police officer, Reid has to stop to say hello.

Noticing Reid’s love of the RCMP, Bryanna decided to post in a local Kamloops moms Facebook group asking if anyone knew any police officers who could take some time out of their day to help surprise Reid on his birthday.

An unnamed woman replied to the post and got Bryanna in contact with Cpl. Wood. Wood quickly agreed to the plan.

What happened next surprised not only Reid, but his mother as well.

Four officers dressed in full uniform, with sirens blazing from their cruisers, rolled into the Lukinchuk’s driveway to surprise Reid.

“(Reid) and all the kids ran into the front yard,” Bryanna said. “They put Reid into one of the cars and showed him how the sirens and the lights worked.”

Cpl. Wood and Constables Sine, Tucker, and Sanford went over to the family house before their Saturday 7:00 p.m. shift — bringing gifts along with them.

Reid was completely shocked and extremely happy but the good deed may have made Bryanna the most emotional, revealing she had to step away from the party to release a few tears.

“It was really amazing to see your son meeting four of his heroes”.
