KAMLOOPS — Two men are in police custody after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing a vehicle this morning.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that an officer saw a vehicle driving erratically and speeding in the area of Highland Drive at 4:40 a.m.

Shelkie says the officer activated his emergency lights to try and pull the vehicle over, but instead the vehicle sped away.

The officer pulled over and stopped, but the suspect vehicle sped on the frontage road near Oriole Road when it hit a cement barrier.

Officers arrived on scene and found one man in the vehicle, and the other was found nearby after allegedly running away.

Although neither suspect had visible injuries, both were taken to hospital for an assessment before being taken into custody.

Shelkie says both suspects are 32 years old, one from Enderby and the other from Falkland. Both are known to police.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
