KAMLOOPS — The 21st biannual Rotary Food Drive gets underway this Saturday in Kamloops.

The Kamloops Food Bank is hoping to collect 80,000 pounds of food, as volunteers fan out across the city Saturday morning.

Residents are encouraged to go through their pantries and donate non-perishable items.

While the food bank will accept any bag filled with donations, the last of the yellow food drive bags have been sent out to a few homes.

“Canada Post is delivering Rotary Food Drive tags to every household in town,” said Executive Director Bernadette Siracky. “We’re asking you to attach those to a bag you already have in your home. So, any reusable bag, plastic bag, box, and put it in a visible spot by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.”
