Landmark Cinemas to shutter Paramount Theatre in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — It’s curtains for a downtown Kamloops institution.

The Paramount Theatre at Fifth Avenue and Victoria Street will fade to black as of next week.

A notice on the Landmark Cinemas website notes the Paramount will cease operations as of April 17.

In addition to screening films daily, the Paramount hosts the Kamloops International Film Festival every spring, and has since the event began in 1997.

The Paramount’s final showings will be Hotel Mumbai and Five Feet Apart.
