THE CROWN CASTS PRINCESS DIANA: Emma Corrin will play Lady Diana Spector, who went on to become the Princess of Wales in Netflix‘s The Crown. “Beyond excited and honoured to be joining The Crownfor its fourth season,” Corrin said. “I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. MANDY MOORE, BUSY PHILIPPS ACCUSE GUYS AND DOLLS OF SEXISM: On Busy Tonight Monday night, Mandy Moore accused the producers of Guys and Dolls on Broadway of sexism. Both women are interested in the role of Adelaide, but have been unable to audition. “‘Please, I just want to get in the room. I’ll sing, I’ll do whatever I have to do,” Moore said she told her agents, who responded, “They want to cast the male leads first, and then they want to talk about who the ladies are.’” John Goldwyn, Marc Toberoff, and Meyer Gottlieb are reportedly producing the film.
SARA GILBERT LEAVES THE TALK: Sara Gilbert is leaving CBS chatfest The Talk, she announced Tuesday. “This is something that I have been struggling with for a while, and going back and forth, but I’ve decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of this season,” an emotional Gilbert said to gasps from the audience. “I obviously love it here, and like I said, this was extremely difficult. Last season, I did The Conners and was also producing and [hosted] here. I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or take time for myself.” Last September, Julie Chen stepped down after her husband Leslie Moonves was fired as CBS CEO.
