KAMLOOPS — B.C. Hockey has named the Major Midget League all-star team and player of the year for the 2018-19 season.

Logan Stankoven from the Thompson Blazers has been named the player of the year and to the league all-star team.

As a 15-year-old, Stankoven led the league in scoring with 49 goals and 101 points in 38 games.

Stankoven, who turned 16 in late February, set a league record for goals in a season.

He also became only the third 15-year-old in league history to score a 100-point season.

After the Thompson Blazers season ended he joined the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League for the playoffs.

Stankoven scored his first career Western League goal in game five against the Victoria Royals, and finished the series with a goal and an assist in six games.

As a 16-year-old, Stankoven will be eligible to join the Blazers fulltime for the 2019-20 Western Hockey League season.
