ROTHENBURGER: City is dragging its feet on replacing stolen plaques
KAMLOOPS — SPRING HAS SPRUNG and the nicer weather inevitably encourages the graffiti vandals to renew their destructive pastime.
They recently tagged an important piece of public art called the Raven’s Nest in Riverside Park. The Raven’s Nest was created during an art symposium in 2002.
Fortunately, the Graffiti Task Force is on the ball and has already cleaned the paint off the Raven.
Now, if only the City’s facilities department would complete the job. For, while the graffiti vandalism on the work of art has been dealt with, the plaque that identifies it has not. It remains missing in action after many years.
