GABRIELLE UNION SUPPORTS DWAYNE WADE’S 11-YEAR-OLD SON: At the Miami Pride Festival on Sunday, Gabrielle Union supported her 11-year-old stepson Zion. Dwayne Wade was unable to attend. Wade wasn’t able to attend, but he shared his support on social media, writing: “Zion had his [own] cheering section today. Wish I was there to see you smile kid!”
EMILIA CLARKE SHARES PHOTOS FROM BRAIN ANEURYSM HOSPITALIZATION: Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has shared never-before-seen-photos from her hospitalization while fending off two life-threatening brain aneurysms. She said: “The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain. I’d had an aneurysm, an arterial rupture.” Meanwhile, in an interview with Miss Vogue, she criticized stars who agree to be photo-shopped. She said: “It’s not right. Where is that human interaction? I think that the apps that make people airbrush themselves and look thinner or look clearer skinned should be banned. I don’t think this shit should be on the phone for young people. I do not agree with it, I do not like it, it doesn’t make me feel good. I don’t do it on my Instagram. I filter, sure, everybody’s got to filter! But ain’t no way that I’m going to retouch that stuff.”
OPRAH WINFREY GIVES BACK: Oprah Winfrey has pledged $2 million to help Puerto Rico’s art and cultural programs, which took a hit after the 2017 Hurricane Maria. $1 million will go to the Hispanic Federation’s UNIDOS Disaster Relief & Recovery Program, which serves “the immediate and long-term needs of families and communities in Puerto Rico” by distributing food and other necessities.” The other $1 million will go to Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s Flamboyan Arts Fund.
