Selma Blair’s New Bestie

Selma Blair is crediting Michael J. Fox with her bravery in facing her chronic disease in the full glare of the Hollywood spotlight. Blair shared her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis with the public in October, and since, has walked red carpets and given tongue-in-cheek make-up tutorials to show other folks struggling with the debilitating disease how she creates her magic.

Fox, of course, has been battling Parkinson’s Disease since 1991, and has also been celebrated for his no-nonsense approach to living with a chronic disease in the spotlight. The pair have been hanging out a lot recently, Blair has said.

She posted an image of them together on Instagram, looking as chill and happy as ever together. “I like this man. I am not alone in feeling this way,” Blair, 46, wrote of Fox, 57 – noting how the two were both wearing T-shirts of “underdog” pop cultural characters – he the 1970s punk band Misfits, and she the 1970s film Bad News Bears. “We are all a time capsule in this photo… my heart!”

She continued: “Your presence. You. The best. Thank you.”
