KAMLOOPS — A Cache Creek man charged with second-degree murder has been granted bail for a second time.

Corey Harkness is charged in connection to the shooting death of Brock Ledoux in January of this year.

Harkness appeared in B.C. Supreme Court in Kamloops this morning (April 5), where Crown and defence lawyers proposed a joint release plan.

He must reside at a second-stage housing residence in Kelowna during his bail.

On Feb. 4, Harkness was released on a $100,000 cash bail with a $10,000 deposit and two sureties — his mother and stepfather.

Two weeks later, Harkness was arrested after police conducted a curfew check at his home on Feb. 18 early in the morning, and Harkness wasn’t there.

Harkness was released on a number of conditions including abiding by all house rules at the residence in Kelowna.

On Jan. 14, police responded to a home in the 1000-block of Collins Road in Cache Creek for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found a dead man, who was later identified as Ledoux.

Details of the offence were discussed in court, but cannot be published due to a court-ordered publication ban.
